Gladys VanDenheuvel, 96, Minot, formerly of Brainerd, MN, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Gladys was born November 7, 1913 at Brainerd, MN, the daughter of Nels and Ann (Willmer) Hegstad. She was raised and educated at Brainerd and united in marriage to Lloyd Deaver until they were divorced. She made their home at Brainerd, where she was employed at the Meyer Laundry for a number of years. She was once married to Leo VanDenheuvel. Gladys moved to Minot in 2007 to be nearer her daughter. She entered the Trinity Nursing Home in June of 2007, where she continued to live until her death.

Gladys was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd, where she enjoyed playing the organ and piano for many of their services.

Her loving family includes : her daughter, Joanne Neperud, Minot; grandchildren, Kevin Neperud, Minot, Lisa (Terry) Mock, Minot and Steven (Tara) Neperud, Charlotte, NC; great-grandchildren, Nicholas & Jacob Mock, Tommy & Ashley Neperud.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Alfred, Elmer, Roy and George Hegstad, sisters, Mary Hegstad, Josephine Hegstad, Nora Hegstad Endter, Myrtle Hegstad Mehlhoff and four infant siblings.

Funeral service: Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot
