Gladys Person, 97, longtime Des Lacs area resident, died peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2020 in a Minot assisted living facility. Gladys' loving family was at her side and they had received assistance from Caring Edge Hospice for the past few days.
Gladys Julia Carrolla Ingolfsland was born on May 1, 1923 in Badger, MN to Gilbert and Helma (Losby) Ingolfsland. Her family moved to the Des Lacs area in 1924 and she was raised on a farm in Rolling Green Township of Ward County south of Des Lacs. She attended rural school and Des Lacs High School.
Gladys married Dave Person in 1945. They made their home on a farm in Rolling Green Township of Ward County where they raised small grains and livestock. Gladys was employed as a cook at the Ma and Pa General Store and Restaurant. More recently, she had been a child care provider for family, neighbors and friends. She moved into Des Lacs in 1978. Dave died on December 28, 1977. Gladys had resided at ProHealth for the past four years.
Gladys was a lifelong member of the Des Lacs United Methodist Church and especially enjoyed gardening, crocheting and lefse making.
Gladys' loving family includes her children: Cheryl Brown, Judith (Jim) Johnson, Mary Ann Derr, Nancy (John) Laubacher, Paul Person, Peggy (Leon) Kallias and Dave Person all of Minot, Burlington or Des Lacs; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Orrin and siblings: Leslie (Wyoma) Ingolfsland and Helen (Harold) Wilson.
Celebration of the Life of Gladys Person. Social distancing requirements will be followed: Friday, June 26, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in Vincent United Methodist Church - Minot.

Interment will be in the Rolling Green Cemetery- rural Des Lacs.
Visitation: Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Des Lacs United Methodist Church Building Project.
