Obituary

Gladys Klebe, 80 , Minot and formerly of Willow City, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in a Minot nursing home.

Gladys was born April 24, 1928, in Bottineau, North Dakota, to Hans and Karen (Jenson) Hanson. She was reared and educated near Oslo, Norway until her family returned to North Dakota and settled in the Upham area. Gladys graduated from Upham High School in 1946.

Gladys attended Minot Teacher's College and received her Standard Teaching Certificate. She taught at Willow Creek Township School for two years.

Gladys was united in marriage to Edwin Klebe on June 6, 1948 in Little Deep Lutheran Church near Upham, ND. They made their home in Willow City, ND, where Gladys and Ed owned and operated Ed's U-Save Grocery and Clothing Store. She was employed as the branch manager for Pioneer State Bank of Towner from 1971 until 1975. Then, she became the business manager for Willow City Public School until her retirement in 2000. They moved to Minot in August of 2007.

Gladys was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Willow City and was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Gladys was also active and an office holder in the Willow City American Legion Auxiliary as well as the Willow Homemakers. Gladys was currently a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot. Her hobbies included quilting, cooking, and reading. Gladys will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.

Surviving family includes her loving husband of 60 years, Edwin; Children: Peggy (Ken) Prellwitz, Willow City, ND, Jackie Klebe (Dennis Blessum), Rugby, ND, Terry (Janet) Klebe, Houston, TX, Douglas (Dannette) Klebe, Cypress, CA, and Craig (Linda) Klebe, Richmond Hills, GA; Grandchildren: Pam Prellwitz Merriam, Vance Prellwitz, Jennifer Prellwitz Whitley, Kim Fosness Johnson, Shane and Ritchie Fosness, BJ, Dean, John, Damon, Desirae, Jordan, Matthew and Courtney Klebe and Scott Warren; nine Great Grandchildren; Sister: Elsie Erdman, Warren, OR, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, son, Brian, and brother, Rolf.

Funeral: Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment:
Monday at Noon in the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, rural Mandan, ND
Visitation:
Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

are preferred to Our Savior Lutheran Church - Minot or St. Paul's Lutheran Church - Willow City.
