Gladys Nikitenko Bostow , 86, Minot died on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in a Velva care center.
Gladys was born on February 24, 1927 in Minot to Samuel and Ida (Dossenko) Nikitenko. She was reared and educated in Minot.
Gladys married Aaron Bostow on October 15, 1958 in Minot. They made their home in Minot where she was employed by various families as a house cleaner and he owned and operated Bostow's Mobil Service Station. They had made their home at 1122 7th St. S.W. for many years.
Aaron died on May 7, 1993. Gladys had continued to make her home in Minot prior to moving to the Angels Care Adult Foster Care Home in Carpio in 2008 and Souris Valley Care Center in August of 2013.
Gladys was an active member of the First Assembly of God in Minot where she assisted with the preparations for holy communion. She was a very spiritual woman who had a special place in her heart for children. She enjoyed gardening (especially African violets), pottery making and bird watching.
Gladys' loving family includes her children: Dennis (Margaret) Bostow of Lakewood, CO, Terry (Maureen) Bostow of Minot and Aaron Bostow Jr. of Minot; grandchildren: Christian (Lauren) Bostow, Heather (Darren) Hutchinson, Michelle (Ryan) Kalkwarf and Atesha Compton; great grandchildren: Allie and Rhys Hutchinson, Kylie Bostow and Iris Compton-Dean; siblings: Andy (Wanda) Nikitenko of Minot and Ruth (Roger) Bullene of Surrey; several nieces and nephews including: Gloria (Richard) Lokken, Greg (JoAnne) Nikitenko and Pat (Shelly) Nikitenko and special friends: Candice Linder and the Volochenko family.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Celebration of the Life of Gladys Bostow:
Friday, October 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in First Assembly of God - Minot.
Interment
will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.
Visitation:
Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to the First Assembly of God, Minot.
