Gladwin Odell Bockness, 63, Mandan formerly of Minot, died Saturday, November 27, 2021, in a Mandan assisted living center.

Gladwin Odell was born on July 7, 1958, in Minot to Glen H. and Onna E. (Olson) Bockness. He was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1976. Gladwin held numerous jobs within Minot before heading out to the west coast of California where he was employed in the construction industry. He also worked in the North Dakota oil fields prior to becoming disabled in 1979.

Any endeavor he took on, he put 150% effort into it. Throughout his adult years, he took on any job big or small and was always eager to help anyone. He always was looking to make life better and more enjoyable for any and every one and was known for his heart of gold. He currently was residing at an assisted living facility in Mandan.

Gladwin was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Minot. His hobbies and interests included enjoying a good game of pool, collecting unique trinkets, playing his harmonicas and he always kept a place in his heart for his family and pets. He spent many hours reading the bible. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and his incredible love for his nieces and nephews.

Gladwin is survived by his father Glen H. Bockness, Hazen; siblings Gerhard Bockness, Hemet, CA and Lavina (Steven) Myhre, Hazen, ND; brother-in-law Greg Boyer, Hazen along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his mother Onna Bockness and sister Carol Boyer.
