Germaine was born May 7, 1931 in Minot, ND to John and Esther (Buen) Allshouse.  She grew up and attended school in Berthold, graduating with the class of 1949.

Germaine was united in marriage to Philip Fjeldahl on June 1, 1950 in Berthold.  They raised a family of seven children on a farm south of Berthold until 1976 when they moved to Minot.  Along with being a mother and homemaker, she was also quite an entrepreneur, selling various products from her home. She attended Berthold Baptist Church and served as a local 4-H club leader for many years.  She belonged to the PTA and various homemakers' groups. For a number of years, Germaine also worked as a seamstress at Margaret's Draperies in Minot and in the office at St. Leo's Catholic School.

As her children married, she was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Germaine was the host of most family gatherings, where her talents as a cook and baker were second to none and enjoyed by family and friends. Philip passed away December 31, 1996.  Germaine has remained in Minot and spent some winters in Arizona during her retirement.  Through the years she enjoyed her collections, none more so than her butterflies. She also enjoyed Gaither Gospel music, the Lawrence Welk show and an occasional buster bar.

Germaine's loving family includes her children Lanay Fjeldahl, Plymouth, MN, John (Connie) Fjeldahl, Berthold, daughter-in-law, Sharon Fjeldahl, Des Lacs, Christy Tranby, Minot, Becky Beskoon, Florence, MT, Dorca (Jeff) LeDosquet, Cross Lake, MN and Paul (Charlene) Fjeldahl, Minot; grandchildren Jason (Julisa Hirsch) Fjeldahl, Kevin (Cassie) Fjeldahl, Scott (Andrea) Fjeldahl, Nathan (Melinda) Fjeldahl, Kayla (Wes) Moore, Justin (Lexi) Keller, Jamie (Adam) Jernigan, Ryan (Michelle) Tranby, Kealy (Tara) Vanmeter-Beskoon, Logan Beskoon, Cherrett (Cody) Brunelle, Kathy (David) Eckmann, Stephanie Wilson (Bill Radle), Mackenzie (David) Ludwig, Nikki LeDosquet, Lanell (Ryan) Nemeth, Kyle LeDosquet, Mark McKenzie, Chance (Shellby) Fjeldahl and Chanel Fjeldahl; great-grandchildren Jaxon & James, Kayle, Larson, Marshall & Nolan, Ezra & Olive, Skylar, Terrell, Tiyah & Jerica, Ophelia, Candace & Addie, Genevieve, Evangeline,  Madelene & Anastasa, Isabella, Braiden & Elijah, Keaton, Layton, Carson & Mason, Lena & Robin, Blake, Ben & Dex, and Chace – and one Moore on the way!  sisters Clarice (Dale) Erdahl, Mesa, AZ, Marilyn Feiock, Rapid City, SD and Gail (Delano) Mollerud, Berthold and a brother, Maurice (Dorothy) Allshouse, Topeka, KS along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Germaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Daniel, grandson Jesse Beskoon, sisters Colleen & Ruby, and brothers Merle & John.

Celebration of Germaine's Life: 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2019 at Berthold Baptist Church, Berthold, ND
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Visitation: Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Easter Seals or to an organization of the donor's choice.
