Geraldine "Geri" June Bauer, 90, longtime Minot resident, died Friday, December 14, 2018 in a Minot Hospital.
Geri was born July 3, 1928 at St. Paul, Nebraska the daughter of Ivan and Lillian (Morrison) Stalnaker. She was raised and educated in Nebraska and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1945. She attended beautician school in Grand Island, Nebraska, where she owned and operated a beauty salon for one year. She was employed at Western Union as a relief operator prior to her marriage to Earl Bauer on January 10, 1951 in St. Paul, Nebraska.
Earl and Geri moved to Minot in 1951. They made their home here throughout the years, where she continued her work with Western Union and then with Sears Department Store. Geri also served as Minot Public Library Bookmobile Supervisor for several years. In addition to raising their two sons, she served as a Foster Grandparent at Lewis & Clark Elementary School for 18 years. After Earl died October 18, 1988, Geri continued to live in Minot.
She was a member of the Methodist Faith, the VFW Auxiliary, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Minot Retrievers Club and a local homemaker's club. She enjoyed knitting and reading.
Her loving family includes sons, Daniel (D'Arlyn) Bauer, Mandan; Jon (Mary Rakness) Bauer, Minot and grandchildren, Nathaniel and Obediah Bauer.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl and a brother, Pinky Stalnaker.
Celebration of life service:
1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot (Spring 2019)
Visitation:
Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary or the Minot Public Library.
