Gerald Allen "Jerry" Thompson, 62, Minot died on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 in a Minot hospital.

Gerald was born on May 1, 1953 in Epping, ND to LeRoy and Rose (Quitt) Thompson. He was reared and educated in Minot, attended a Bismarck trade school where he received specialized training in auto body repair and mechanics and attended Minot State University for two years.

Jerry married Delane "Dee" Schauer on December 10, 1983 in Minot. They made their home in Minot and he was employed in the Sanitation Department at Minot Air Force Base and at Greenberg Roofing prior to forming his own company Jerry's Concrete Lifting. He retired in 1996 due to a physical disability.

Jerry especially enjoyed fishing, camping, model cars and watching old movies especially westerns.

Jerry is survived by his wife of31 years Dee; son: Chad; stepdaughters: Corrina (Keith) Lemier of rural Max and Dierdra "Dee Dee" (Marshall) Carroll of Gerrardstown, WV; five step grandchildren; mother: Rose Thompson of Minot; siblings: Laurie George of Deering, LeRoy Jr. and Merle both of Minot and Deb Miller of North Carolina and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, brother: Andy, stepson: Theodore Gibson and step grandson: Thomas Gibson.

Celebration of the Life of Gerald Thompson: Monday, July 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.

Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park - Minot.

Visitation: Sunday from noon until 4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home.
