Obituary

Gerald Almer "Jerry" Borud, 82, Minot died on Saturday, November 1, 2014 in a Minot hospital.

Gerald was born on September 21, 1932 in Minot to Ernest and Juanita (Stevick) Borud. He was reared and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1952. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and served aboard seven ships and visited twenty-five countries prior to his honorable discharge on July 31, 1960. He returned to Minot where he was employed as a clerk at the Minot Post Office for thirty-six years prior to his retirement in 1987. Also, Gerald was a guitarist and singer in seven area bands including the Mustangs Mark IV, Skeeters and Bottom 30.

Gerald especially enjoyed music and making people laugh. Every day he had a new joke, but some weren't the cleanest or politically correct. Also, he was known for his quick wit and comebacks. He enjoyed watching old western movies and hosting large gatherings of family and friends in his backyard.
