Georgine "Jerry" LaVonne Berg, 77, Minot, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 in a Minot Nursing Home.

Jerry was born May 23, 1930 at Minot, North Dakota, the daughter of William and Thelma (Olson) Kane. She was raised and educated in Minot and graduated with honors from Minot High School in 1948. While in high school, she was active in the Acapella choir, a choir trio group, student council, and the Minot High Times.

Jerry was united in marriage to Keith Berg on January 13, 1951 at Minot. They made their home in Minot throughout the years, where along with raising her 5 children; she was employed as office manager for Waterman Implement for two years and for Hancock Motors for one year. She also worked for Becwar-Cederstrom Culligan Soft Water Co. for two years, prior to becoming office manager for Berg Masonry Company in 1978, where she served in that capacity until 1992, when the business was sold. Keith died August 23, 2000.

Jerry was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where she sang in the church choir for many years, and was active in bible study groups. She held offices in the Bethany Lutheran Church Women's group and was active in the Altar guild. She was a lifetime member of the Minot PTA. Jerry enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending many of their special events.

Her loving family includes : Children: Brian (Laura) Berg, Minot, Brady Berg, Fargo, ND, Bruce (Rosa) Berg, Minot, Blair Berg, Dickinson and Barbara (Jerry) Sanden, Minot; Grandchildren: Benjamin, Tyler and Emma Berg, Courtney Sanden, Cody Berg, Katherine and Kayla Berg, Matthew and Michael Berg.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, William Kane.

Funeral service: Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot;
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot;
Visitation: Friday from 2:00-7:00pm in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot;
Memorials: Preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church.
