Obituary

George E. Perronteau , 65, Minot, ND formerly of Minneapolis, MN and Belcourt, ND died Sunday, August 15, 2021, in a Minot hospital.

George was born August 16, 1955, in Belcourt, ND to Alexander and Rosella (Gourneau) Perronteau. He spent the years of his youth in Belcourt and Rolla and a short time with family in the state of Washington. He graduated from Rolla High School in 1973 and continued his studies at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck. George earned degrees in the fields of carpentry and electricity.

George would spend his working life in the construction industry. He was a talented carpenter who completed many jobs throughout the United States and Canada. George was a part of many big construction builds but also rounded enough to complete the small jobs. He called Minneapolis, MN home and was blessed to have a daughter and son in his life. He was a member of the local carpenters' union based out of the twin cities. He retired from full-time work nearly a decade ago and returned to North Dakota, living in Minot.

He found enjoyment in the outdoors. Hiking in the mountains to connect with nature was one of his favorite activities along with fishing and hunting. George was kind, loving and always willing to forgive. He will be missed by his son Jason for his humor and companion Coleen for his thoughtfulness and caring way.

George is survived by his son Jason (Erin) Perronteau, Grand Forks, ND, son-in-law Dion Gladue, Dunseith, ND; grandchildren Sharday (Dakota) Gladue, Shyanne Gladue, Jyle Gladue, Isabelle, Alyssa and John Perronteau; siblings Janice Perronteau, Belcourt, Sherrie Kidd, Canada, and Dale (Vickie) Perronteau, Kentucky; brother-in-law Darryl Jeanotte, Belcourt; companion Coleen Jones, Minot along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

George was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Daylene Gladue, and siblings Douglas and Gregory Perronteau and sisters Linda Perttonteau and Carol Jeanotte.
