Genevieve Ethel Tompers, 74, Minot, died Saturday, January 6, 2018 in a Minot hospital.
Genevieve was born November 21st, 1943 on the family farm near West Rainey Butte to George and Ethel (Thomas) Urlacher. She was raised and attended school in New England, ND.
Gen was joined in marriage to Richard Tompers April 4th, 1962. They made their home in Minot, ND. She was employed at Garden Valley Exxon as a book keeper. And then later as a waitress at the Clarence Parker Hotel and Holiday Inn. Later in life she volunteered with the Adult Learning Center and UniMed Medical Center's Silver Connections.
Gen was a member of St. John the Apostle Church in Minot.
She is survived by her children Nathan Tompers, Minot and Lea Tompers, Richmond, KY; grandchildren Lesa(Elliot) Larman, Devils Lake, Shauna(Vaughn) Hoffman, West Fargo, Jason Lucke, KY, Holle(Alec) Grande, Fargo, Trey Savilla, KY, Eric Thiele, KY, Katrina Belcher, Minot; 8 great-grandchildren. Her sister Monica Peterson and brothers Laurence and Herbert Urlacher.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; her ex-husband Richard Tompers; daughter MonaRay Belcher; sister Josephine Dubisar; brothers Thomas, Ralph and Sylvester Urlacher.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Learning Disabilities Association of ND, or a local food bank.
