Genevieve Spletto , 75, Minot, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, in a Minot nursing home.
Genevieve was born July 16, 1940 in Minot, ND to John and Ruth (Roush) Wagner. She was reared and educated in Velva, graduating with the class of 1958.
Genevieve was united in marriage to Cecil A. Spletto February 27, 1959, in Drake, ND. The made their home in Minot and were blessed with two daughters. She assisted her husband in the operation of Carl's Radiator as a bookkeeper for many years.
Genevieve was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot, serving on the church council and as church secretary for four years. She enjoyed being outside in the garden but loved tending to her flowers most. Genevieve also was known for her cooking, serving often as host for family and friends. She passed the time with crossword puzzles and often was found lost in the story of a good book. She will be deeply missed by all who called her mom and grandma
Her surviving family includes loving husband of 57 years, Cecil Spletto, Minot; daughters, Sheila (Terrance) Kiser, Minot and Diane (George) Smith, Minot; grandchildren, April Kiser, Joshua Kiser, Christopher Kiser, Tara (Mike) Smith-Sullivan, Travis (Sara) Smith, Tabitha (Travis) Smith-Brossart; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Rollman, Minot and along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, three great-grandchildren, Myles Sullivan, Elijah Brossart and Ashlyn Smith and sister, Geraldine Christianson.
Funeral Service:
11:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment:
Sunset Memorial Park, Minot, ND
Visitation
will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to Our Savior Lutheran Church People Care Fund.
