Obituary

Geneva "Pink" Nettleton, 86, Minot, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, in her home.

Geneva Anna, named after her two grandmothers, was born on July 1, 1923, to Bryan and Sara (Walker) Emry at their home in St Louis, MO, the oldest of nine children. They moved to Canton, MO, when she was one year old.

After graduation from high school, she moved to St Louis to join her sister and friends. While there, she met her future husband, Larry, who was serving in the U.S. Army. They were married on September 11, 1943, in San Luis Obispo, California, where he had transferred. Three days later he left for overseas duty. After his discharge in 1945, they moved to North Dakota where they made their home.

After their daughters were born, Pink spent her time being a devoted mother and wife. She and Larry loved to travel and spent lots of time on the road sightseeing and visiting family and friends. Larry died March 1, 2004.Pink dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some of her favorite stories to tell were of camping trips with her four grandchildren.

Pink was a longtime active member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Post Office Auxiliary.

Those who shared her life are daughters, Cheryl (Loren) Guidinger, Lansford, ND, and Alice (Michael) Knoop, Minot; grandchildren, Scot (Natalie Quam) Knoop; Lindsey (Michael) Anderson and their sons, Kade and Blake; Grant (Jennifer) Guidinger and their son, Hudson, all of Minot and Guy (Kara) Guidinger and their daughters, Jadyn and Kya, of Bismarck. Siblings include Dorothy Warford, Waterford, MI, Marie Danker, Quincy, IL, Sara (Jerry) Bradford, Las Vegas, NV, Hollis (Donna) Emry, N Las Vegas, NV, Bryan Jr (Carolyn) Emry, Dyre, NV, Annette (Jim) Ludwig, Keokuk, IA; sister-in-law, Margorie Blowers, Durant, IA, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant daughter, Sara, brother; Frank Emry, sister; Norma Beers, several brothers in law and sisters in law.

Funeral service: Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND
Visitation: Tuesday, March 9, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot.
