Gayle Muhlbradt, 93, Minot, formerly of Parshall, died on Saturday, November 9, 2019, in a Minot nursing home.
Gayle Lavone was born on March 12, 1926, in Plaza, N.D. She was reared and educated in Parshall and graduated from Parshall High School in 1944.
Gayle married Richard Muhlbradt on November 4, 1945, at First Lutheran Church in Parshall. They made their home in Parshall and she assisted her husband in the operation of their farm south of Parshall in Loquemont Township of McLean Country. In addition to farming, Gayle and Richard provided the music for countless weddings and funerals, and she accompanied the Parshall Men's Chorus for many years. They retired from farming in 1985 and moved to Minot where they since had lived. Richard died on May 21, 2016. Gayle had continued to reside in Minot, most recently at Trinity Homes.
Gayle was a member of First Lutheran Church – Minot, where she volunteered at Luther's Kitchen, and was a former member of First Lutheran Church – Parshall, where she served as the organist of First Lutheran Church in Parshall for 19 years. A history buff, she especially enjoyed studying the southwestern U.S. Her interests throughout her life were music, history, camping, and western literature. She also was an avid supporter of animals and wildlife.
Gayle's loving family includes her children: Kathryn Williams of Bismarck and Mary Muhlbradt of Minot and several nieces and nephews.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents: Hannah and John Stall, husband and siblings: Berdie Spitzer, Hattie Macheel and Herb Stall; and son-in-law M. Darrell Williams.
Celebration of the Life of Gayle Muhlbradt - Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in First Lutheran Church - Minot.
Visitation - Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Souris Valley Animal Shelter or Luther's Kitchen.
