Gaillord Albertson,
90, Norwich and formerly of rural Douglas, died on Monday, May 9, 2011, in a Minot nursing home.
Gaillord was born on July 13, 1920, on the family farm in Spring Lake Township of Ward County near Douglas, ND to Albert and Mathilde (Johnson) Albertson. He was reared on the family farm and attended rural schools in that area. As a young adult he assisted his parents and brothers on the family farm.
Gaillord married Mabel Myers on August 19, 1957, in Minot. They made their home in the Douglas area and Gaillord was employed as a general contractor by Montgomery-Ward and Sears. He retired in 1997.
Gaillord attended the First Church of the Nazarene and served as the clerk supervisor and assessor for Spring Lake Township. He especially enjoyed reading.
Gaillord was a strong man in both mind and body. He led his life through the word of God, loving his Lord and Savior first and then his family.
Gaillord's loving family includes: his wife of 53 years, Mabel; children: Sheldon (Dawn) Albertson of Minot, Beth (Darell) Marschall of Sandy UT, Bert (LaFae) Albertson of Norwich and Leta (Rick) Semchenko of Max; special family member: Tammy (Brian) Reinhardt; grandchildren: Maria (Brad) Hiland, Erik (Kristin) Albertson, Shelby and Miriah Marschall, Alec, Patience, Megan, Vanessa, Gracin and Levi Albertson; Ellyn and Natasha Semchenko, Taylor and T.J. Reinhardt; great grandchildren: Makayla Hiland and Ava Albertson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gaillord was preceded in death by his parents; son: Lehman; brothers: Phillip, Ernest, Donald, Morriel, Russell and Morton.
Funeral Service:
Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Church of the Nazarene - Minot.
Interment
will be in Spring Lake Township Cemetery rural Douglas.
Visitation:
Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to the Spring Lake Cemetery.
