Gage Gilpin , 25, of Minot and formerly of Prescott, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in his home.

Gage was born on April 29, 2000, in Prescott, Arizona, to William and Shawna (Vernon) Gilpin. He spent the first half of his childhood in Chino Valley, Arizona, before moving to Ryder and Makoti, North Dakota, where he later graduated from Plaza High School in 2018.

Gage brought light and laughter to a world that can often feel dark. Bursting with personality and humor, he had a remarkable ability to brighten even the toughest days. His presence was warm, his spirit generous, and his joy contagious. To know Gage was to feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.

He was employed as a phlebotomist at Trinity Health in Minot beginning in 2025, a role he took great pride in. His compassion and kindness made a meaningful impact on patients and coworkers alike. Before joining Trinity, he worked at Material Testing Services and at the Cenex C-Store in Makoti and Ryder, where he became a familiar and friendly face to many. No matter where he worked, Gage approached every day with dedication, humor, and a genuine desire to help others.

Gage will be remembered for his radiant smile, his unforgettable laugh, and the biggest, warmest hugs. Though the world was not always gentle with him, he responded with kindness, love, and an unwavering willingness to lift others up. His light was immense—so immense that it will continue to shine into distant galaxies and beyond.

Surviving family includes his loving parents, Shawna (Rick Sprinkle) Vernon of Ryder, ND, and William Gilpin of Prescott Valley, AZ; his siblings William "Billy" (Emily) Gilpin of Minot, Levi Sprinkle of Ryder, ND, and Naomi and Nicole Gilpin of Prescott Valley, AZ; his grandmother Patsy Sullivan; his nephews Benjamin, Sam, and Ellis Gilpin; and his uncles and aunts Eddie (Minnika) Sullivan, Brandon (Sarah) Simmons, and Preston (Melissa) Simmons.

He was preceded in death by family members who now welcome him home.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thomas Family Funeral Home in Minot.

Gage's absence leaves a profound ache, but his memory remains a bright and comforting beacon. Those who loved him will carry his light forward, grateful for every moment shared with someone so extraordinary.
