G. Vivian Hagen, 91, Minot, died Monday, June 14, 2010 in a Minot Nursing Home.
Vivian was born September 17, 1918 at Minot, North Dakota, the daughter of Axel and Mathilda (Anderson) Johnson. She was raised on the family farm in Sundre Township of Ward County and attended Bell School before going to Minot High School.
Vivian was united in marriage to T. Melvin Hagen on November 23, 1935 in Minot. They made their home on a farm in Sundre Township, where along with raising their four children, farmed throughout the years. Vivian and Melvin retired in 1976 and moved to Minot. Melvin died June 16, 1989.
Vivian was a longtime member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Minot where she was active with the Naomi Circle group. She was also a member of Valley Homemakers, enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and was an avid letter writer. She especially loved playing games and cards with family and friends.
Vivian's loving family includes : Children, Dale (Lola) Hagen, Rural Minot, Merwyn "Bruce" (Kathy) Hagen, Sacramento, CA, Joyce Carroll, San Antonio, TX and Becky (Edward) Kirby, Tulsa, OK; Grandchildren: Susan (Waldo) Ackerman, Brenda (Todd) Hustad, John Hagen, Jeff (Lisa) Hagen, Jodi (Nick) DePorcel, Jason (Caryn) Hagen, Patrick (Camie) Carroll, Stefanie Carroll, Kiersten Kirby & Kyle Kirby; Great-Grandchildren: Kenny, Amber & Emma Ackerman; Colter & Ashley Hustad; Lance & Acacia Hagen; Annalise Hagen, Nicolas & Kristofer DePorcel; Alexa & Augie Hagen, Allison Kirby; Sister: Ethel (Erwin) Hauf, Max, ND; Brother: William Johnson, Minot; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vivian was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Melvin, Grandson, Todd Hagen, Brothers, Clarence, John & Francis Johnson; Sisters, Hannah, Florence and Helen; Son-in-law, Ralph Fraley.
Funeral service
: Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot;
Interment:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot;
Visitation:
Friday from 2:00-7:00pm in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot;
Memorials are preferred to Augustana Lutheran Church, Minot.
