IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fred Campbell
Woodiwiss
October 6, 1943 – March 31, 2020
The service will be live streamed and can be accessed at https://www.mtmsales.net/live .
Fred Campbell Woodiwiss, 76, father extraordinaire, devoted husband, friendly farmer, and former dedicated director of Ward County Child Support Services, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
Fred, aka "Freddy Godiva," aka "Our Rock," was born on October 6, 1943 in Minot, North Dakota to Floyd and Freda Woodiwiss. He was born and raised in Minot, graduating from Model High School in 1962. Fred graduated from Minot State University in 1966 with a degree in history and went to law school at UND, but he was torn away from his studies after one semester due to the Vietnam War draft. Fred served for the intelligence headquarters in Germany during the war, and used his time wisely to explore Europe, thereby instilling a strong sense of freedom and adventure in both of his children.
Fred married Margaret Akovenko on August 9, 1983 at First Lutheran Church in Minot. Fred enjoyed spending all of his time with his family. When he wasn't watching the Vikings on mute to avoid inaccurate commentary, he was mowing the lawn, shoveling the driveway, or at the farm cutting down diseased trees with only his left hand due to a prior stroke. His work ethic was unparalleled, fueled by the motto, "Get the job done, and do it right the first time." Fred loved to go hunting and fishing with his brother-in-law and faithfully read the Bible every night. He was a steadfast man of integrity, strength, and reliability.
Fred's endearing family includes : his wife of 36 years, Margie; children: Dan (Sally) DiPasquale of Davenport, Florida; Catherine Woodiwiss of Minot, North Dakota; grandchildren Jacob (Sarah) DiPasquale, and Katlyn DiPasquale; sister, Marlene (Wes) Tossett of Minot; 4 brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, along with many nieces and nephews, cousins, and their respective children.
Fred was preceded in death by: his father and mother, Floyd and Freda Woodiwiss, and parents-in-law, Victor and Melvey Akovenko.
