Obituary

Frank Leonard "Red" Miller, 86, lifelong Minot resident died on Sunday, September 22, 2013 in a Minot adult foster care home.

Frank was born on March 12, 1927 in Minot, ND to Franz and Lydia (Myren) Miller. He was reared and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1945. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on June 15, 1945 and served until his honorable discharge on December 7, 1946. Following his discharge, he returned to Minot and attended Minot State Teachers College.

Frank married Beryl Nelson on December 21, 1947 in Minot and they made their home at 608 4th St. N.E. in Minot for many years and he was employed by the Minot Daily News as a printer from 1951 until his retirement in 1990. Also, he had been employed as a real estate agent, most recently at Coldwell Banker- First Minot Realty, since 1969. Beryl died on May 13, 2009. Red had been residing at the UnSong Ringuette Adult Foster Care Home for the past two years.

Red was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church where he served as an usher. Also, he was a member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge and Eagles Aerie all in Minot. He especially enjoyed golfing, reading and hunting.

Frank's loving family includes his children: Vice Admiral Michael (Barbara) Miller of Annapolis, MD; Scott Miller of Fargo and Bruce (Rebecca) Miller of Moscow, Idaho; grandson: Michael Miller Jr. of San Diego CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Red was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers: Gerald and Everett Miller.

Celebration of the Life of Frank "Red" Miller: Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in First Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens - Minot.
Visitation: Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Church Foundation.
