Frank Andrew MacPherson passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at an assisted living residence in Regina, Saskatchewan, at the age of 92.
Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, in 1933, Frank began a life of service and distinction with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, serving in detachments in Ottawa and Saskatchewan. While with the RCMP, he earned a law degree and went on to become a prosecuting attorney in Ontario, followed by a long and respected career on the bench. Throughout his judicial career, he was highly regarded by lawyers, court personnel, and colleagues for his fairness, intellect, and integrity. He later received a Master of Theological Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University, reflecting his lifelong curiosity, intellect, and deep sense of purpose.
Frank was a man of wisdom, humor, and grace. He was a devoted husband to his wife Marjorie for 52 years, and together they shared a full and joyful life. A talented pianist and fine ballroom dancer, Frank's warmth and wit endeared him to friends and family alike. An avid reader and book collector, he maintained a personal library of more than 400 volumes, including works of history, the classics, philosophy, and theology. His keen interest in history and ideas enriched every conversation and reflected a mind constantly in search of understanding.
In retirement, Frank and Marjorie lived in Elora, Ontario; Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; Weyburn, Saskatchewan; and Regina, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie; son Roger (Betsy) of Regina; stepchildren William Thomas of Rice Lake, Wisconsin; Robert (Patti) Thomas of Minot, North Dakota; Barbara (Will) Combs of Benicia, California; and Ben (Gwen) Thomas of Fargo, North Dakota. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his parents, Douglas and Lila MacPherson; his brother, Douglas; and his daughter, Carmen.
