Frank Pius Eberle, 96, Minot, formerly of Rugby, died on Friday, November 04, 2011, in a Minot hospital.

Frank was born on September 18, 1915 in Karlsruhe, North Dakota to Pius and Eva (Jaeger) Eberle. Frank's mother died when he was four and he was reared by his father and stepmother, Gunda Muffenbier Eberle in Karlsruhe and attended rural school before continuing his education in Karlsruhe. Following his education he assisted his uncle and family on their farms.

Frank married Pauline "Polly" Burgard on September 19, 1938 in Leeds, North Dakota. They made their home near Esmond where he farmed and was employed by Ove Lunde Construction Company as a mason. Later, they moved into Esmond where he was employed as the maintenance engineer for the Esmond School for ten years. He truly enjoyed his contact with the students and many became lifelong friends. He retired in 1978 and moved to Rugby prior to moving to Minot.

Frank was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, and a former member of Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby and St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Elk's Lodge. His special interests included fishing, playing pool, and woodworking especially building furniture. He and his wife enjoyed spending the winter in Arizona for ten years. His life motto was "If you can't do it right, don't do it at all".

Frank's loving family includes his wife of 73 years, Pauline, Minot; daughters, Virginia (Roger) Grigsby, Omaha, NE; Marjorie (Glen) Monson, Glasgow, MT; Frank (Lucy) Eberle, Yakima, WA; Paulette (Brian) Hannig, Denver, CO; Sharon Eberle, Winnemucca, NV; Karon (Jerome) Schneider, Bismarck, ND; Donna Hilzendager, Minot, ND; son, Clayton Eberle, Sandy, OR; sister, Evelyn; brothers, Ed (Bess) Eberle, Pete (Sally) Eberle, John (Gin) Eberle, Richard Eberle; 30 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother; daughter, Colleen Neis; brothers, Mike, Leo, Nick, Felix, Matt and Valentine.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Monday at 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Chapel - Minot

Graveside Service: Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Little Flower Catholic Cemetery - Rugby

Visitation: Monday from noon until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.

Memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
