Floyd Edward Wallace, 98, Minot died on Saturday, December 25, 2010, in his home.

Floyd was born on November 11, 1912, near Surrey to Lawrence and Millie (Soper) Wallace. He was reared and educated in Surrey and as a young adult he was employed by the Miller Coal Company for seventeen years. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on March 26, 1942. He served in Company C of the 216th Armored Engineer Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe prior to his honorable discharge on October 24, 1945. During his military service he had been awarded a Good Conduct Medal and the Bronze Service Arrowhead.

Following his discharge he returned to the Minot area where he was employed as a mechanic prior to his marriage to Lucille Lambert on March 20, 1946, in Burlington. They made their home in Minot where he was employed at Sweetheart Bakery and Hancock Motors. He retired in 1977.

Floyd was a member of the Moose Lodge and Teamster's Union from 1964-1977. He attended Zion Lutheran Church. He especially enjoyed fishing and camping.

Floyd's loving family includes his wife of 64 years Lucille; daughter: Brenda Wallace of Minot; sons: Gary (Linda) Wallace of Havre, MT, Gene Wallace of Clinton, WA, Duane Wallace of Freeland, WA and Randy (Freida) Wallace of Moses Lake, WA; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister: Mary (Ernie) Rutherford of Citrus Heights, CA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Lydia Bechtold and brothers: LaVerne, Clarence and Clifford Wallace.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Minot.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral
