Floyd Daniel Christian Smith, 70, Williston, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, in a Bismarck hospital.

Floyd was born November 18, 1941 to Albert and Edith (Nelson) Smith in Portal, ND. He attend Flaxton Public School.

As a young adult, Floyd worked on the family farm located near Flaxton for several years where he honed his gardening skills and took special interest in livestock and raising rabbits.

He moved to Williston, ND in the early 1980's where he worked at several jobs until he retired due to poor health. He lived at the Kensington for many years before he became a resident of the Bethel Lutheran Home in 2007.

Left to mourn Floyd's passing are his loving mother, Edith (Minot); brothers, Gordon (Doris) of Missouri and Elwood (Sue) Smith, Minot; nephews, Mike (Barb) Smith of ND and Brian Smith of KS; five great nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Floyd was preceded in death by his father Albert in 2010.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment: First Lutheran Church Cemetery, Flaxton, ND at a later date.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the start of the service at the funeral home.
