Florence Lenora Sutter , 85, Minot, formerly of Sawyer, died Monday, November 3, 2008 in a Garrison Nursing Home.

Florence was born November 22, 1922 at Heimdal, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Mary (Stenerodden) Johnson. She moved with her family at an early age to New Rockford, where she was raised and educated. Florence worked as a waitress in New Rockford and later at Minot after moving here in 1942.

Florence was united in marriage to William "Bill" Sutter on November 7, 1945 at Minot. They made their home at Sawyer for a number of years. Florence was actively involved in the Sawyer Community Club and had attended the Sawyer Baptist Church.

Bill died August 23, 1991, and Florence moved to Minot that same year. She made her home at the Henry Towers and at Edgewood Vista, before recently moving to the Benedictine Living Center of Garrison. She had attended Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot.

Florence enjoyed playing bingo and cards, along with visiting with family and friends.

Her loving family includes : Sons: Ron (Kate) Sutter, Washburn, ND ; Wayne (Tammy Folger) Sutter, Vicksburg, MS; Grandchildren: Karl (Deanna) Sutter, Sarah Sutter and her fiancé, Mark Feist and Jodi Sutter; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Marion Clark, brothers, James and Clifford Johnson and half-brother, Art Georgeson.

Funeral service : Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot.
Interment: Sawyer Community Cemetery, Sawyer.
Visitation: Wednesday from 2:00-7:00pm.in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot
