Obituary

Ferne Faye Redding, 84, Minot and formerly of Sawyer died on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in a Minot nursing home.

Ferne was born on April 10, 1931 in Minot to Henry and Alice (Walker) Pounds. She was reared and educated in Minot.

Ferne was once married to Roy Redding. They made their home in Sawyer prior to moving to Minot in 1973 where Ferne was employed at Dakco Distributors as a courier, and as a nurse's aide at Trinity Hospital and home health care provider.

Ferne was a former member of the Sawyer Nazarene Church where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Center where she was an active volunteer and Harmony Center. In her younger years she served as a Cub Scouts den mother. She especially enjoyed reading, baking, ceramics, cross-stitch, collecting tiger figurines and gardening especially roses.

Ferne's loving family includes her children: Roy Jr. (Judy) Redding, Karin (Dennis) Klein and Thomas Redding all of Minot and Michael Redding of Arnegard; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ferne was preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Linda Martines; sisters: Esther Pounds, Emma George, Evelyn Jesson and Margaret Frey and brothers: Edward, Earl, Everett, Bob and Clyde Pounds.

Celebration of the Life of Ferne Redding: Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Trinity Homes, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
Visitation: Tuesday, June 9, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Souris Valley Animal Shelter.
