Obituary

Fern 'Dolly' Klein, 91, Minot, died Saturday, January 10, 2015, in a Minot nursing home.

Fern was born November 2, 1923, to Theodore and Alma (Rom) Lee on the family farm located 8.5 miles southeast of Van Hook, ND. Fern moved with her family to Minot in 1928. She attended Minot Public Schools and graduated from Minot High School with the class of 1941.

Fern was joined in marriage to John Klein on January 30, 1943 in Tacoma, WA. They resided in Tacoma while John was serving in the Army. They returned to Minot in 1945, where they would raise their family and reside their entire lives.

Fern was employed at JC Penney, Northwest Clinic and Minot Drug for nineteen years until her retirement in 1972. She was active at St. Leo's Catholic Church and its Confraternity of Christian Mothers' Group. She enjoyed reading, gardening and sewing. Her legacy will be her family and devotion to them. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Somerset Court and to Bonnie Ler for the special care given to Fern over the past years.

Fern's loving family includes, daughter, Becky (Tom) Haverlock, Minot, ND; grandchildren, Chad Haverlock, San Antonio, TX and Cassie (Laramie) Davis, Minot, ND; great-grandchildren, Ryder, Keira, Jesse and Jaxson; siblings, Jeanette Perry, Coon Rapids, MN and Pete (Linda) Lee, Bowman, ND; sister-in-law, Eleanor Lee, Minot, ND and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, son, John Lee Klein, sisters, Phyllis Witham and Myrtle Olson Reardon and brothers, Harris, Allen and Myron Lee.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND

Visitation: Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorials are preferred to St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
