Obituary

Evelyna Tolliver, 82, Minot formerly of Gretna, NE died Monday, June 19, 2017, in a Minot hospital.

Evelyna was born February 5, 1935, in Omaha, NE to Ora and Ruby (Radford) McWilliams. She was educated in Omaha and was a graduate of North High School in 1953.

Evelyna was united in marriage to James Tolliver. They made their home in the community of Gretna, NE. This union was blessed with four children.

She began her career in the banking industry right out of high school as a teller for Commercial Federal Savings and Loan of Omaha. Evelyna continued with the bank her entire career working her way to branch manager. She retired after a 20 year career in the banking industry.

Jim passed away in 1997. She remained in Gretna until 2003, when she moved to Minot to be near her daughter, Stephanie.

Evelyna had interest in sewing and needlepoint work. She was part of a bowling league in Omaha/Gretna for many years. She will be missed by all who shared in her life but most by those who called her mom and grandma.

Her surviving family includes her children, Tim (Linda) Tolliver and Chip (Kathy) Tolliver, both of Omaha, NE, Lee (Brandi) Tolliver of Fremont, NE and Stephanie (Dr. Stephen) Stripe, Minot, ND; grandchildren, Jodie and James Tolliver, Jacob and Ben Tolliver, Alexis, Mariah and Lee James (LJ) Tolliver, and Kevin and Carissa Stripe; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Mason; sisters, June Rogers of Omaha, NE and Lucy Zeschmann of Council Bluffs, IA along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyna was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ruth Hagan and brothers, Ival, Dallas, Earl, Jim, Art and Pat McWilliams.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Omaha, Nebraska.
Interment: Westlawn Hillcrest Memorial Park, Omaha, Nebraska.
Visitation: Sunday, June 25, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home in Omaha.
Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.
Local Memorial Booksigning: Friday, June 30, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
