Evelyn Erna Dendinger , 95 , passed to her heavenly home peacefully on November 30, 2015 while a resident of Pro Health Care, Minot, ND.

Evelyn was born February 26, 1920 in Burlington, ND to John and Minnie (Wittenberg) Werner. She was reared in the Minot/Burlington area and graduated from Minot High School in 1937.

Evelyn married Arthur Michael Dendinger on September 10, 1939. They made their home in Minot where she was a full-time wife, mother and homemaker until May of 1959 when she began employment as a secretary for Dakota Drug where she worked until her retirement in 1984. She then worked part-time at a wedding apparel store and later at Ben Franklin in the fabric department and as a cashier. Her husband, Arthur, died March 29, 1981. They had been married 42 years.

Evelyn was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught adult Sunday school, served as an Elder and Deacon, was a member of the United Presbyterian Women, and was on the ministry committee of the Presbytery of the Northern Plains.

Evelyn is survived by her children, George (Betty) Dendinger of Hillsboro, OR, and John "Jack" (Clare) Dendinger of Fair Oaks, CA; her grandchildren, Bradley (Mona) Dendinger of Hillsboro, OR and Kim (Dion) Klein of Rugby, ND; great-grandchildren, Meghan, Maria, and Olivia Dendinger and Gabriela Samuda (Klein), as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Elmer, Melvin, Robert and Ralph, and her sister Martha Alexander, sisters-in-law: Helen, Babe, Ina and Ida and brother-in-law, Frank.

A Celebration of the Life of Evelyn Dendinger will be held at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Minot, on May 13, 2016 at 1:30pm. Interment will be at Rosehill Memorial Park.
