Evelyn Anderson, 93, longtime Minot resident and formerly of Carpio died on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at the Souris Valley Care Center - Velva.

Evelyn Helen Rostad was born on October 5, 1926 in Plain Township of Renville County near Carpio, ND to Halvor and Anna (Askvig) Rostad. She was raised on the family farm, attended elementary school in Hartland, ND and graduated from Carpio High School in 1944.

Evelyn married Leonard Ernest Anderson on August 27, 1944 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Carpio ND. They made their home in Jacksonville, FL where Leonard was stationed with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following his discharge from the Navy they made their home in Minot for two years and Carpio for six years where they owned and operated the grocery store. Then, they lived at various communities in North Dakota where Leonard taught and coached at the high school level. The family moved to Minot in 1968 when Leonard became employed as a teacher and administrator with the Minot Public School System. During this time Evelyn was employed as a Medical Records Clerk at Trinity Hospital for fourteen years. She retired in 1987. Leonard died on Aug 16 ^th 1987. Most recently, she had resided at Edgewood Vista and the Souris Valley Care Center for the past 5 years.

Evelyn was a member of Our Redeemer's Church, Minot and a former member, Sunday School and Bible School teacher at the churches in the communities where she resided. Also, she was a volunteer at the Norsk Hostfest and at Trinity Hospital. She especially enjoyed traveling, sewing, knitting, crocheting, macramé and ceramics, but her number one joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Evelyn's loving family includes her children: Mark (Betsy) Anderson of Minot and Paul (Jeni) Anderson of Fullerton CA; grandchildren: Travis (Jen), Eric and Mason (Dana) Anderson; Brea (Scott) Hollinger, Amanda, Chris (Sabrina), Nicholas (Becca), Cody and Colton (Heather) Anderson; Destiny Quinn, Joshua Milligan, Amy Clark and Jesse Merritt; great grandchildren: William, Kaleb, Joel, Finley, Fisher, Thatcher, Will, Marianna, Jacoby, Rowin and Frankie and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children: Mike and David L., grandchildren: Bruce Leonard Anderson and Cole Anderson and siblings: Emery, Alfred and Jearold Rostad and Angeline Peterson.
