Obituary

Eugene G. Davidson, 71, Minot, former Longtime Tolley area farmer, died Monday January 9, 2017 in a Minot Hospital.

Eugene was born September 2, 1945 at Kenmare, North Dakota the son of Godfrey and Mildred (Axtel) Davidson. He moved with his parents at an early age to a farm in the Bitterroot Valley near Stevensville, Montana, where they farmed for a few years until the Montana State Game and Fish Department purchased their land.

The family returned to their farm at Tolley, where Eugene was raised and educated at Kenmare, graduating from Kenmare High School in 1964. Eugene assisted his father with the operation of the farmstead until taking over the day to day operation. He was united in marriage to Dianna Bly on June 21, 1996. He retired from farming and they moved to Minot.

Eugene loved being outdoors, spending time fishing, hunting and at his cabin at the Mouse River Park near Tolley. He enjoyed doing leather crafts, making bird houses, visiting with people and collecting toys. He was always interested in oil activity, exploration and wild cat drilling. He loved animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed his many years in the Tolley area.

Eugene is survived by his wife of twenty years, Dianna Bly, Minot and a number of cousins.

Eugene is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, David.

A Graveside service will take place later in the Spring of 2017 at the St. Mary's Cemetery, Lignite, ND.
A private family viewing and visitation was held at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the St Mary's Cemetery Fund.
