Ethel Plesuk, 86, Butte, died Sunday, October 30, 2016 at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Ethel was born November 14, 1929 to John (J.B.) and Stacia (Boyko) Skorick on a small farm located southwest of Butte, ND. She was raised on the farm with her five brothers and one sister. She attended Butte School graduating with the high school class of 1948.
Ethel was joined in marriage to Russell Plesuk on June 4, 1948 at the Baptist Church in Bismarck, ND. They returned to Butte later in August, where they purchased land from Russell\'s brother, built their home, farm, and raised their family of eight children.
Ethel loved to have company and always welcomed everyone that came to their home with open arms. She was a wonderful cook. Family and friends loved to visit and were always served a bowl of her delicious borscht, varanicks, caramel rolls or many other goodies she always had on hand. She also took great pride in gardening, sewing, and quilting throughout her years. She loved to play cards with family and friends and also enjoyed bowling and bingo for many years after their retirement.
Near and dear to Ethel\'s heart was her family and special friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be missed dearly by all who shared in her life.
Ethel was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church of Kief and American Legion Auxiliary of Butte.
Her surviving family includes her loving husband of 68 years, Russell, Butte, ND; children, Diane (Roger) Rieger, St Cloud MN, John (Connie) Plesuk, Minot, Julie (Roger) Bofenkamp, Debbie (Rey) Schaan and Terry Plesuk, all of Fargo ND , Jeanie (fianc Jim) Boechler, Bismarck and Angie (Tony) Holenko, International Falls, MN; Twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ethel was proceeded in death by her parents, infant son, Russell John and daughter, JoAnn (Monte) Bokovoy, grandchildren, Bradley Bokovoy and Andrea Rieger-Hodge, infant sister, Ruth and brothers, Glen, Paul, Rollie and Raymond Skorick.
Funeral service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Immanuel Baptist church, Minot.
Interment: Butte Community Cemetery, Butte, ND
Visitation: Thursday November 3, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot, with a prayer service following at 7:00 pm
In lieu of flowers and plants memorials can be made to Liberty Baptist Church in memory of Ethel.
