Ethel Marie Molzahn, 86, Minot formerly of Norton, Kansas died on Saturday January 20, 2007 in a Minot hospital.

Ethel was born on August 13, 1920 in the rural farming area of Burdette, Colorado to George and Mary (Dressel) True. Her early years were spent on the homestead in eastern Colorado. The family moved to Kensington, Kansas during the Depression years of the 1930's. She completed her schooling there and met Joe Molzahn who became her husband of 57 years. They were married in October of 1941 at Smith Center, Kansas. The family moved from Kensington to Norton, Kansas in 1950 following the closure of the Hanke Foundry. Ethel began employment as a cook in the Norton school system lunch program in 1951. Eventually, she became meal planner and purchaser for the elementary and junior high schools prior to her retirement in 1982. She was proud to know most of the students by their names as they filed past the lunch servers for the noon meal at the school.

Ethel was an active member of the First Christian Church in Norton where she was baptized in 1954. She was a member of the ladies organization, assisted with vacation bible school and served as the coordinator for the church's funeral dinners.

Survivors include: son: Ronald (Marlene) Molzahn of Minot; grandsons: Mike Molzahn of Tulsa OK and Brian (Kathy) Molzahn of Wagoner OK; great granddaughter: Danielle Smiley of Wagoner; brother: Kenneth (Cleta) True of Gaylord KS as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers: Cecil, Herbert, Eldon "Curly" and Leo True.

Funeral Service and Celebration of Ethel's Life: Friday, January 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in First Christian Church - Norton Kansas.
Interment will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery - Kensington Kansas.
Visitation: No reviewal, but friends may sign a memorial register on Thursday from noon until 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
