Esther Erickson Logelin Bahl , 98, Vancouver, WA, formerly of Rugby and Minot, died Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Community Home Health Hospice Center in Vancouver, WA.

Esther was born on December 19, 1920 to Ed and Dena Erickson on a farm near Epworth, North Dakota (20 miles southeast of Stanley). She attended a country school thru the eighth grade. Esther stayed and helped on the farm, doing chores and gardening. Her Dad was diagnosed with cancer when she was 16 and her mother took care of him until he died.

When she was 23 years old, she traveled to Seattle, Washington and worked at Boeing. She married Harold Logelin in Seattle on December, 1943. They had 4 children together. They later divorced. In 1945, Esther returned to Minot and lived there for many years. Esther married her second husband Ovila (Joe) Bahl in 1964. They had one child together. He passed away in October of 1990. Esther also lived in Rugby ND for many years and later returned to live in Minot. In 2014 she moved to Vancouver, Washington to live with her daughter, Debby Anderson.

Esther enjoyed gardening, playing her organ, sewing and crocheting. She also enjoyed the casino trips to Deadwood and New Town. She worked as a waitress, did housecleaning and also cleaned apartments.

Esther is survived by her son Milo Logelin; daughters Dena Frantsvog, Donna Sheffield, Debby Anderson and Joann Bahl; stepsons Wayne and Dennis Bahl; a sister Betty Davis of Utah along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Leonard, Oscar and Howard Erickson and a sister Margaret Brown.

Celebration of Esther's Life:  1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment:  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
A luncheon will be held at 5 pm at Northern Plains Inn, 1515 22nd Avenue SW, Minot.
A time to sign a memorial register book will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
