Ernest Yuzicapi, 67, Minot, died Friday, August 13, 2010 in a Minot hospital.
Ernest was born May 20, 1943, in Ft. Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Joseph M. and Rose (Tawiyaka) Yuzicappi.
Ernest was united in marriage to Opal (Hasby) Garness on April 8, 1978 in Goodrich, North Dakota. They made their home in Goodrich and later traveled as missionaries to the Indian reservations in the surrounding states. In 1991, they returned to the Minot area, where they continued their missionary work. Josephine died on January 14, 2002.
Ernie was well known for his singing, generosity and encouragement. He expressed his praises and testimony through his singing. He was always lending a helping hand and will be deeply touched by all who shared in his life.
He is survived by sisters, Irene Jacques, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and Vivian Yuzicappi, Ft. Qu'Appelle, Sask. Canada; brother, Albert Yuzicappi, Fairfax, SD and numerous family, relatives and dear friends.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Martha Rose Yuzicappi, Joan Turning Bear, brothers, George Yuzicappi and John Johnson Sr., nephews, Micheal Jacques, Donovan Turning Bear and John Johnson Jr., and a niece, Melissa Joy Walking Eagle.
Funeral service: Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Crossroads Baptist Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Visitation: Monday from noon 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot and one hour prior to the start of the service on Tuesday.
