Erna Seidler-Wood, 94, formerly of Minot and Underwood died on August 30, 2018 in a Phoenix, AZ hospice home.

Erna was born February 28, 1924 in Garrison, the daughter of Christ and Amelia Abel. She was raised and educated in the Emmett area. Erna married Herbert Seidler on June 16, 1940 near Coleharbor where they made their home on a family farm. They moved to the Underwood area in 1948 and continued farming until their retirement. From 1981 through 1990 they spent the winter months in Mesa, Arizona. They moved from Underwood to Minot in 1992 where Herbert passed away on May 7, 1998.

Erna married Thomas Wood on April 27, 2002 at First Assembly of God Church, Minot. They made their home in Minot where she and Tom enjoyed spending time with their families. Tom died August 6, 2010. Erna moved to The View in Minot in September of 2010 and continued to make her home there until she moved to Phoenix, AZ in September of 2014.

Throughout her lifetime, Erna was active in her church as a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, and as a member of the Women's Mission Group. She was a former member of the Underwood Assembly of God and currently a member of the First Assembly of God, Minot. She loved gardening and raised beautiful flowers. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends which almost always included a home cooked meal and dessert for anyone that visited.

Erna is survived by her daughter, Sharlene (Nelson) Tomlinson, Phoenix, AZ; son Marlyn (Kristie) Seidler of Underwood; grandchildren, Kristee (Mark) Preudhomme, Phoenix, AZ; Suzanne Jones, Fargo; Lori Opdahl, Bottineau; Benjamin (Heather) Seidler, Washburn; Jessica (Joel) Watts, Dixon, MO; Roger (Cassidy Chapin) Rink, Watford City; Cassie (Marshall) Johnson, Underwood; great grandchildren, Zane and Kate Preudhomme, Riley, Carter and Cainan Jones, Robert Opdahl, Alex, Lacy and Kinsey Seidler, Jaden Driscoll, Journey, Jakob and John Watts; great-great granddaughter Ava Giedd; stepchildren, Allen (Wendy) Wood of Grand Forks; Peggy (Gary) Isaacs of Brooklyn Park, MN; Andrea (Brad) Graham, Salt Lake City, UT and Robyn (Bill) Fell of Aurora, CO and several step grandchildren.

Erna was preceded in death by her parents Christ and Amelia Abel; husbands Herbert Seidler and Tom Wood; sisters, Hertha Jungling, Freida Meier, Ida Moll, Estella Weishaar and Emma Moll and brothers, Henry and William Abel.

Celebration of the Life of Erna Seidler-Wood will be Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm at West Minot Church of God.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2018, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
