Erika M. Dahl, 45, Berthold, died Sunday, December 30, 2018 in a Minot hospital.

Erika was born November 26, 1973 in Mexico City, Mexico to Rafael Sierra Henriquez and Lina Esthela Solis. She attended school in Mexico City during her youth. Erika attended college at Metropolitan Autonomous University also of Mexico City where she studied graphic art design.

Erika spent her entire life working with children. She was employed alongside her mother and sister at Nana's house orphanage in Tepic, Mexico prior to her marriage.

She met the love of her life, Scott Dahl in December of 2012. They were united in marriage on February 12, 2013 at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Minot. They made their home in Berthold, ND and were blessed with a son, Nathanael on March 10, 2014.

Erika operated a home daycare for a time and was recently employed at the Kids Academy in Berthold. She was a talented artist that could draw or paint anything you could imagine. She decorated Nathanael's room with free hand painting that will be treasured forever. Her talented hands created many cross-stitch patterns, knitted treasures and nativity scenes.

Erika enjoyed the outdoors. Summer fishing trips along with the beautiful views of Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks reminded her of home in Mexico. Erika was devoted completely to her family and will forever be missed by all who shared in her life.

Blessed to share in Erika's life was her loving husband, Scott Dahl and their son, Nathanael of Berthold; mother, Lina Solis, Tepic, Mexico; sister, Sonia (Efren) Hernandez, Tepic, Mexico; nieces, Eunice, Sara and David Hernandez; sisters-in-law, Mellony (Jeff) O'Neill, Towner, ND, Karen (Darrin) Standen, Rockwall, TX, Kathy (Shawn) Schumacher, Jamestown, ND and Susie (Travis) Schlager, Jamestown, ND; brothers-in-law, John Dahl, Jamestown, Lee (Rhonda) Dahl, Fargo, ND and Rick (Connie Wick) Dahl, Minot along with many nieces and nephews.

Erika was preceded in death by her father, Raphael and nephew Cruz Schumacher.

Celebration of Erika's Life: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at The Pursuit Church, 515 20th Ave SE, Minot.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, 304 South Main Street, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to an education fund that will be established in Nathanael's name.
