Eric Lee Currie , 42, Minot died on Monday, November 27, 2017 in his home following a courageous 21-month battle with colon cancer. His loving parents and aunt were at his side.

Eric was born on May 22, 1975 in Cando, ND to Curtis and Debra (Burkhart) Currie. He was raised and educated in Minot, graduated from Minot High School in 1994 and received an Associates Degree with specialized training as an electrical lineman from Bismarck State College.

Eric was employed at Brink Electric and Timberline Electric in Rapid City, SD and at NASTEC in North Carolina prior to returning to Minot in 2010 where he was employed at CHS Sun Prairie until ill health forced his retirement in March, 2016.

Eric especially enjoyed hunting and spending time at Lake Metigoshe and Strawberry Lake. He also enjoyed his great friends at the Pour Farm and the Lamplighter.

Eric's loving family includes his parents of Minot/Bottineau; brothers: Justin (Terra) Currie of Bismarck and Keegan (Kara) Currie of Minot, niece, Colee and nephews, Thade, Zane, and Drew. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and Special Aunt Ruthann.

Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents: LB and Vivian Currie and Dale and Oline Burkhart.

Funeral Service: Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Vincent United Methodist Church - Minot.
Visitation: Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
