Emma I. Schnase , 83, 900 33rd Ave S.W. Minot, and formerly of the Plaza area, died Friday, October 27, 2006 in her home.

Emma was born February 6, 1923 on the family farm near Plaza, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Emma (Mueller) Schnase. She was raised and educated near Plaza and after graduation from high school there, she attended Minot Business College.

She was employed by a Minot Attorney for several years and then returned to the family farm to assist with the operation of the farmstead. Emma enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and doing a number of tasks that would make others happy and keeping herself useful. She had moved to Minot in 1998 and had lived at the Dakota Terrace Apartments, where she loved her second family a great deal.

Emma was a former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Parshall.

Her loving family includes: Nieces: Sandra Marschner of Minot, Elaine Wentz of Mandan; Nephews: Scott Bostow of Minot, Ralph Muecke of Gladstone, Scott and Jack Stone, San Diego, CA;

Emma was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Lillian Bostow, Esther Muecke, Mildred Labo, Hazel Stone and Brothers: Ralph and Gerhard Schnase.

Funeral service : Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at 10:00am in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Graveside service : Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Noon in Parshall Community Cemetery.
Visitation: Monday from 2:00-7:00pm in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Gideon's International or Lutheran Hour.
