Elsie (LC) Emmel Jacobson, 99, Mountrail Bethel Home, Stanley, died Friday, April 5, 2013, with her daughters at her side.
Elsie was born February 5, 1914 to L.C. Emmel and Luella (Clark) Emmel. She had five brothers and four sisters and lived on the family homestead in Stafford Township, Renville County, North Dakota.
Elsie married Kermit Jacobson June 11, 1932. They farmed in Renville County until 1953, when they moved to Watford City, North Dakota. They had three daughters, Clarice Bernsdorf, Minot, Jean Christianson, and Linda Karpyak, Dallas, Texas.
She is survived by two daughters, Clarice and Linda, and their husbands, Darrell Bernsdorf and Steven Karpyak; three grandchildren, Tim Christianson, Jill Bernsdorf Nohr, and Anya Karpyak; nine great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Kermit; daughter Jean and her husband John Christianson; five grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
Elsie leaves behind a legacy of love. We will forever cherish the memory of her kind heart, her gentle spirit, her quiet strength, and her great faith. We take comfort knowing she is now home with her beloved Jesus. How blessed we were to have this special lady as our Mother, Gram, and Great Gram. We love you. Hugs and Kisses.
