Eloise Ann Monson Lunder, 85, Mesa, AZ, formerly of Minot and Williston, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in a Mesa Hospital.

Eloise was born September 7, 1931 in Hillsboro, North Dakota, the daughter of Robert Ganoe and Ethel Gladys (Eastman) Bovaird. She was raised and educated at Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1949. She attended Northwestern School of Nursing in Minneapolis, where she graduated with a degree in Nursing in 1952. She was employed for a short time at the Sidney, Montana Hospital as a registered nurse prior to her marriage to Robert J. Monson on December 15, 1952 at Sidney.

They moved to Williston, where he was employed with Burlington Northern Railroad. She worked at Mercy Hospital for 7 years before moving to Minot in 1960. While living in Minot, she was employed at Trinity Hospital for 28 years. She retired from Trinity Hospital in 1988, however continued to perform Paramedical exams for insurance companies until she was 71 years old. Robert died in 2000.

Eloise was united in marriage to Gilbert Lunder on February 14, 1988 at Fargo. They continued to make their home in Minot. Gil died May 17, 2013. Eloise moved to Mesa, Arizona in 2015 to live nearer her sister, Paula Cooper.

Eloise was a longtime member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, where she was active with the Women's Fellowship group. She enjoyed reading, music, walking and travelling.

Eloise loved her family and friends dearly. She loved to cook, bake, garden and entertain friends. She enjoyed sewing throughout the years as well. Music was very important to Eloise. She sang in the church choir since a very young age, often singing duets with her sister, Paula. She enjoyed doing family genealogy.

Her loving family includes , son, Paul Monson, Billings, MT; 2 grandchildren, Alyssa Monson and her daughter, Ariah of Billings, MT and Melanie Monson and her children, Mitchell Monson, Kyrene & Bradlee Bishop; Gilbert's children: Kae (Rick) Olson of Gold Canyon, AZ and grandchildren: Korrie (Nick) Wallin, Heidi Olson, Brock Lunder, Suzi LaSpina, Tessa (Jason) LaQua; sister, Paula (Carroll) Cooper, Mesa, AZ; several nieces and nephews.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, husband's, Robert Monson and Gilbert Lunder; son, John Monson, granddaughter, Michelle Mosure, great grandchildren, Kristie and Kyle Mosure; brother, Robert Bovaird and sisters, Dolores Hunt, Marvelle Sorlie and Shirley Olson.

Celebration of Life service: Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Congregational United Church of Christ, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation : Monday from3:00-6:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Congregational United Church of Christ or Minot Public Library Children's Reading Fund.
