Elmer Charles Storbeck, 79, of Minot passed on to eternal life, January 11, 2013 in Trinity Hospital.
Elmer was born October 24, 1933 in Minot to Fred and Grace (Miller) Storbeck. He was raised and educated in Minot, baptized on March 11, 1934 and confirmed on May 13, 1951 both at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minot, where he was a lifelong member and also served on the church board.
As a young man Elmer was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country from 1956 until 1958. He married Delores Andrews on November 16, 1974 in Moffitt and made their home in Minot. Elmer owned and operated Crystal Springs Water Company and was also employed for Trinity Medical Center for 32 years as a plant operations engineer locksmith until his retirement in May 2002.
In life Elmer was especially fond of fishing, hunting and was very creative with woodworking, but his number one passion was his family.
Elmer's loving family includes his daughters: Tina (Brandon) Shelkey of Bismarck and Teresa (Daniel) Helton of Minot; grandchildren: Dylan, Jamie, Elizabeth, and Nicholas Helton; Chelsea Storbeck, and McKenna and Bryce Shelkey; siblings: Dorothy Collins, Marjorie Walker, Harold Storbeck and Carl Storbeck all of Minot and Virginia (David) Erickson of Berthold and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters: Evelyn Klimpel, Blanche Hudson, Mildred Grothe, Eleanor Gleason and Grace Frey and brothers: Fred Storbeck Jr. and Richard Storbeck.
Funeral Service
: Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment
: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation
: Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials
are preferred to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
