Elvera Mae Fugelso, 88, Minot, died June 9, 2021 in a Minot Hospital.
Elle was born on December 6, 1932 at Minot, North Dakota the daughter of Charles and Vera (Strege) McGinley. She attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, before completing her education at, and receiving a degree from, Minot State College.
Elle was once married to Dr. Peter Fugelso. Over the years, she lived in Chicago, Germany, Hawaii, Southern California, Northern California, and Minot. She had been employed as a teacher and academic adviser. She was a lifelong owner and lover of dogs. She had also served as the Drum Majorette for the VFW Marching Band.
Elle was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church, Minot. She had represented North Dakota in the Mrs. America pageant. She enjoyed dancing, interior design, and downhill skiing. She was renowned for her personal style, as well as her physical fitness and flexibility, including being able to do the splits well into her 70's. She was always a kind, caring, and loving family member and friend. She will be dearly missed.
Her loving family includes , daughter, Dr. Dana Fugelso; brother, Charles Willard (Gaynell) McGinley of California; nephews, Charles Michael (Ingrid) McGinley and Brian Patrick McGinley both of California, William (Jackie) McGinley, Jr. of Virginia and Charles McGinley of Georgia; nieces, Willow (Horace) Hambrick of Kentucky, Shyla (Larry) Toering of Oklahoma, and Heather (Matt) Haas of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, William LeRoy (Phyllis) McGinley.

: 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 9, 2021 in Section 20 of Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation/Booksigning:
Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
