Elaine Mary Lieberg, 79, Minot died on Thursday, March 27, 2008 in a Minot hospital from pancreatic cancer.

Elaine was born on May 10, 1928 in Mountain Lake, MN to Robert and Emma (Senesac) Hislop. She was reared in Jeffers MN and Jackson MN and graduated from Jackson High School in 1946. She attended Roger and Benner School of Cosmetology in Minneapolis, MN for one year prior to being employed at Duane's Salon and Beauty in Minneapolis until 1950.

Elaine married Dale Lieberg on April 8, 1950 in Ray, ND. They made their home in Williston before moving to Minot in 1958. She was self-employed as a day care provider before beginning employment at Ellison's Department Store as a sales clerk. Dale died on December 17, 1970. Following his death she was employed at Trinity Nursing Home as a housekeeper until she retired in 1992.

Elaine was a member of Zion Lutheran Church - Minot where she taught Sunday school and served as a youth group counselor. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of the Roger and Benner Cosmetology School Alumni Association. Her hobbies included gardening, latchhooking and reading.

Elaine's loving family includes her children: Linda (Ken) Alexander of Minot and Cynthia (Donald) Helms of Clarence, NY; eleven grandchildren: Duane (Heather) Helms, Brian (Robin Kasic) Helms, Melissa (Derrick) Spinda, Nicole (Brian Micholas) Helms, Jeffrey Overby, Angela (Patrick) Bingham, Joel Overby, Andrew (Brie Pinkerton) Overby, Terry (Kimberly) Alexander, Kory (LeAnn Juergens) Alexander, Kendal (Kristen Weltikol) Alexander; eleven great grandchildren: Kelsey and Emma Helms, Hanah Helms, Derrick Jr. and Connor Spinda, Marquell Garland, Elizabeth Bingham, Dylan and Chloe Alexander and Jaylee and Paige Alexander; sister: Irene Hislop of Jackson MN; brother Adrian (Hope) Hislop of Alexandria MN and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Guy and Emma, husband, Dale, daughter: Diane, and brothers: Robert and Eugene.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens - Minot.
Visitation: Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Sunday school program or the church of your choice Sunday school program.
