Eileen L. Tofteland, 79, Minot, died Thursday, December 3, 2020 in a Renton, WA hospital.

Eileen was born January 25, 1941 in Velva, ND to Edwin and Lydia (Gartner) Sutter.  She grew up in Sawyer, ND and graduated from Sawyer High School in 1959.

Eileen was united in marriage to Lawrence Tofteland on August 25, 1962 in Benedict, ND.  They lived in Minot until moving to Seattle, WA in 1968.  For the next 38, years they called Seattle home.  Eileen was employed by the Highline School District for nearly two decades as a supervisor of the playground and lunchroom.

They returned to Minot in 2006.  Larry died in 2009.

Eillen enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, camping and deeply valued the time spent in North Dakota visiting family until her return.  She adored her entire family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in her later years.

Eileen is survived by her children Mark Tofteland, Seattle, WA and Melissa (John) Speer, Shelton, WA; grandchildren Tara and Amanda Speer, Gabriel Tofteland, and Ashlee Tofteland; great-grandchildren Jamelia Speer; Levi DeMoss; Sophia DeMoss and Luai Saabi; brothers Otto Sutter, Minot and Allen (Karen) Sutter, Coleharbor, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence 'Larry' Tofteland, son Raymond Tofteland, and sisters and their husbands Ruby (Darrel) Ellsworth and Helen (Jerry) Ellsworth.

No formal services are planned at this time.
A graveside service will be held in the Antler Cemetery at a later date.
