IN LOVING MEMORY OF
E.F. "Ted"
Bolte
April 15, 1938 – July 13, 2019
E.F. "Ted" Bolte, 81, of Minot, ND passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND.
Edward Frederick "Ted" Bolte II was born on April 15, 1938 to Kenneth and Beatrice (Warren) Bolte. He was raised and educated in Fargo, ND and graduated from Fargo High School.
As a freshman in high school, Ted's parents enrolled him in a military school to teach him some discipline because his dad had graduated from a military academy and was a believer in a "firm" hand. He returned home after one year to finish high school in Fargo.
After high school and some college, Ted enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and went off to fight in the "Cold War" and served occasionally as a Chaplain's Assistant. After his honorable discharge, Ted returned to Fargo where he worked at his dad's Texaco gas stations. Later, he was employed by Job Service North Dakota beginning in Fargo and then transferring in 1966 to Minot with his family. He worked for 31 years finding employment for many job seekers. He was at one time married to Mavis Bolte. In addition to working for Job Service, Ted provided temporary pastoral services in the rural communities of Sherwood, Mohall, Kenmare, Bowbells, Donnybrook, and Coteau. Ted married Nancy Hustad in June of 1986. They were the parents of Charles, Kenneth and Matthew.
An active community member, Ted was involved in the DeMolay International organization and eventually became a Mason and Shriner. This was very special to him. He was also active in the Minot Coin Club, Minot Antique Car Club and many other organizations. Ted had a fondness for birds, especially his Love Birds, and held a special place in his heart for his feline friend, Oreo.
Ted's loving family includes his wife of 33 years: Nancy; children: Jodi (Loren) Nelson of Devils Lake, ND, Kenneth (Kimberly) Bolte of Fargo, ND and Matthew Bolte of Minot; grandchildren, Jaim'ee Bolte, Minneapolis, MN; Michael Nelson, Williston, ND; Eric Nelson, Fargo, ND; Azriel Kistner, Duluth, MN; and Jameson Bolte, Fargo, ND; aunt: Delores Warren, Mankato, MN, and special cousins George and (Mary)Warren, Mankato,MN, and Ann (Fritz) Schmidt, Shelburne, VT; special great niece Gudrun Gates (Jimi), St. Paul, MN and numerous other great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
