Obituary

Edwin Howard "Ed" Klebe, 92, Minot and formerly of Willow City, died on Friday, April 21, 2017 in a Minot nursing home.

Ed was born on March 8, 1925 in Willow City, ND to Ewald and Emma (Wulff) Klebe. He was reared and educated in Willow City and graduated from Willow City High School in 1943. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on May 1, 1945 and was honorably discharged on December 1, 1946.

Following his discharge, he returned to North Dakota and was united in marriage to Gladys Hanson on June 6, 1948 in Upham, ND. They made their home near Willow City on a farm in Willow Creek Township for ten years. During that time, he was also employed at the Farmer's Union Oil Company in Willow City. Ed and Gladys purchased the local grocery store in Willow City and operated the store for ten years. After the sale of the store, Ed attended Aaker's Business College where he earned an accounting certificate.

Ed was employed as a salesperson at Thiel's Chevrolet in Bottineau and at the Hutton Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in Towner. He was also employed at Walter Otto Construction Company in Upham for several years as a bookkeeper. He served as office manager of S & S Machinery and was a school bus driver until retiring due to health reasons.

Ed was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Minot and a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Willow City where he served as church treasurer. He was also a member of the American Legion. He especially enjoyed doing mechanical work on cars and old clocks.

Ed's loving family includes daughters: Peggy (Ken) Prellwitz, Willow City; Jackie Klebe (Dennis Blessum), Rugby; sons: Douglas (Dannette) Klebe, Roseburg, OR; Craig (Linda) Klebe, Statesboro, GA and Terry (Janet) Klebe of Sedona, AZ; sister: Lucille Spelhaug, Glenburn; sister-in-law: Janet Klebe, Rugby; grandchildren: Pam Prellwitz Merriam, Vance Prellwitz, Jennifer Prellwitz Rowland, Kim Fosness Johnson, Shane and Ritchie Fosness, BJ, Dean, John, Damon, Desirae, Jordan, Matthew and Courtney Klebe and Scott Warren; numerous great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents: Ewald and Emma Klebe; wife: Gladys Klebe; son: Brian; great grandson: Hunter; sisters: Evelyn Klebe and Viola Thompson; brothers: Martin and Wallace and an infant brother: Arthur.

Funeral Service: Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Savior Lutheran Church - Minot.
Interment: Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, ND.
Visitation: Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
