Edward C. Violet, 89, Minot and formerly of Benedict, died on Friday, November 12, 2010 in a Minot nursing home.

Edward was born on October 6, 1921 in Velva, ND to Charles and Nina Violet. He graduated from high school in Velva, attended the State Teachers College in Minot and was a graduate of Coyne Television School in Chicago, IL, where he graduated with highest honors.

Edward's special interests were farming, gardening, reading, and electronics.

Edward is survived by his sister: Alta (Donald) Price of Stacy, MN; nieces: Carol Nix, Donna Leyva, Mary Price, and Margaret Perry, and nephews, Donald Cedergren, and John Price and other relatives and friends.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nina (Simmons) Violet, his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Edwin Cedergren.

Visitation: Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home Chapel.
