Edward D. Fannik, 74, rural Max, died Friday, October 12, 2007 in a Bismarck Hospital.
Edward Delvin Fannik was born July 28, 1933 on the family farm near Max, North Dakota, the son of Jack and Lena (Honcharoff) Fannik. He was raised on the family farm and educated at Max Public Schools. Ed pursued what he loved best in farming and ranching with his parents and brothers on the family farm.
Ed was united in marriage to LaVonne Klitzke on April 3, 1965 at Lemmon, South Dakota. Ed served with the US Army Reserve from 1958-1964 with the 311th National General Hospital. Throughout the years, Ed and his family made their home on the family farm and ranch near Max, in Ward County, where he continued his lifelong passion for farming and ranching.
Ed was a member of First Baptist Church, Max, where he served as a trustee and was also trustee and sexton of the First Baptist Church Cemetery. He had been a member and held various offices with the Rushville Township Farmer's Union local and was a member of the ND Hereford Association, ND Stockmen's Association and Max Rodeo Association
Ed's loving family includes ; wife of 42 years, LaVonne; Children: Delvin (Kristi) Fannik, Max, LeeAnn Kingsley, Wheatland, ND, Vonette (Mark) Mehlhoff, Wing, ND and Jake Fannik, at home; Grandchildren: Emily Fannik, Melissa & Trevor Mehlhoff; Sisters: Alice (John) Dvirnak, and Kathryn (Elmer) Dvirnak, both of Killdeer, ND; Sister in Law: Lila Fannik of Max.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Alex and brothers: John and George.
Funeral service
: Tuesday October 16, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot;
Interment
: First Baptist Church Cemetery, rural Max;
Visitation
: Monday from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to First Baptist Church Cemetery, Souris Valley Humane Society or organization of the donor's choice.
