E. Faith Petersen , beloved mother and grandmother, 84, Minot and formerly of the South Prairie area died on Friday, March 6, 2009 in a Minot hospital.

Elizabeth Faith Hansen was born on July 1, 1924 in Spokane Washington to Elmer and Florinda (Bowen) Hansen. She was reared on a farm in Cameron Township of Ward County, east of Ryder, ND and attended rural school in that area. She graduated from Ryder High School in 1942.

Faith married Harry Petersen of the Rice Lake area on April 19, 1945 in Minot. They made their home on a farm in Torning Township of Ward County south of Minot where they raised small grains and Black Angus cattle. She had resided on the farm; where they raised their five children: Judith, Bruce, Janice, Jdee and Joan; until 2008. Harry died on May 19, 2001. Faith moved to Minot in 2008.

Faith was a member of the Church of God - Ryder and West Minot Church of God and most recently attended First Assembly of God - Minot. She was an accomplished seamstress, gardener, cook and a second mom to many of her nieces, nephews and friends of her children. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Faith is survived by her son: Bruce (Ginny) Petersen of Thornton, CO; daughters: Judy Kruse of Denver, CO; Janice (James) Lee of rural Max; Jdee (Larry) Kreger of Minot and Joan (James) Zimmer of Minot; grandchildren: Chad Leier, Mike Lee, Justin Kruse, Trevor Petersen, Brian Lee, Damian Kruse, Zach Kreger, Dustin Leier, Nathan Leier, Danelle Spurlock, Jennifer Moore, Lindsay Kreger, Stacey Lammay and Michael Swanson; great-grandchildren: KayLice and Jordyn Kruse, Cody Grubb, Zander Spurlock , Liam, Katrina, Avery Lammey, Michael, Joshua, Alex, Ethan Lee, Joey, Ethan and Noah Moore, Annabelle and Elijah Barcomb, Bandon and Nicholas Leier; sisters: Frances (Larry) Franklin of Ryder; Marjorie Dockter of Minot and Marilyn (Lyle)Beaton of Rapid City SD; sister-in-law: Joyce Hansen of Minot and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Faith was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry, brother Joe Hansen and sister Arlene Morlang.

Funeral Service : Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in First Assembly of God - Minot.
Interment will be in the Spring in Sunset Memorial Gardens - Minot.
Visitation : Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home - Minot.
